this is five
FOUR YEARS AND A MONTH (OCTOBER)
you are a cheeky charlie
super chatty right before bed and wearing an eye mask to bed at night
so creative
learning the words to your favourite disney songs and singing them is one of our favourite things
really patient with your sister
Four years and two months (November)
very particular about the pale blue night light
love to play with water
kind towards your little sister
singing all the time, especially the good morning song at the top of your lungs and the sound of music soundtrack
so many questions about ‘war’ and the bombed out church
drawing pictures every day; often when I come to pick you up at pre - prep you are colouring
dry overnight and we finally ditched the nappies completely!
Four years and three months (December)
you have the cheekiest laugh
you love playing the ‘elsa and anna game’ with us and role-playing when we go for walks anywhere, and you are very keen to be the ‘winner’ when we race..
every christmas craft we have done has somehow ended up looking like a miniature elsa
you were a snowflake on stage in the grace family church
we took you into the bombed out church finally
you love purple mini rolls and blue rice krispy marshmallow treats
you only popped three items on your christmas list for santa and one of them was a library book you repeatedly take out
you wear your lindt ‘jingle bell’ daily and erupt into song often.
Four years and four months (January)
you no longer like mini rolls
(or most foods)
your birthday is many many months away but you keep asking when it will be… and adding things to your wish list! its very sweet
Four years and five months (February)
you started doing four special questions before bed with daddy
suddenly OBSESSED with peter rabbit and lily
you have SO many hiding places i can no longer keep track…
you are so wonderful and helpful with your baby sister. such a bond
Four years and six months (march)
you had your second haircut this month
you love listening to stories on your tony box and creating your own
drawing, painting, art, art, art. you are ALWAYS asking us if you can ‘draw a picture’
we regressed a little in the wet bed department….
appetite is mouse-like
i let you bring the garden chairs indoors for a couple of weeks and you ate all your meals on your ‘garden chair’ in front of the tv
Four years and seven months (April)
you love your new patent black school shoes (with hearts) SO MUCH you wore them to bed on the first night and you reach for them every day
mastering more tricky words
you love pulling your high chair into the kitchen to help dad
muddy magic potions in the garden
we are all listening to my little pony’s sunny … on repeat
dry nights again after that blip and two lots of antibiotics
Four years and eight months (May)
you build pretty incredible magnet tile castles
constantly evolving as an artist, drawing houses and butterflies and hearts
forwards rolls
protective over your sweet baby sister
favourite shoes of the month are your unicorn crocs
unicorn MAD
often sleeping right through the night on your own
trickster!
went in a ‘cajoozie’ for the first time
Four years and nine months (June)
you feel so special when we let you stay up later than your baby sister
so excited for ‘holidays’
sometimes you giggle in your sleep
staying up every single night late on holidays to play the ‘dice game’ … you have named the game “potato”
BIG love for the big pool in nerja
sleeping the morning away
jumping over waves and collecting rocks
Four years and ten months (July)
you basically ate nothing.. for two whole weeks on holidays

coming home from holiday club with a bag full of pictures drawn by you; rainbows, elsas and castles
Four years and eleven months (August)
being dad’s tail…. or walking boots
so much giggling
protective over your baby sister (but also equally a wind up merchant)
singing all the words to songs by listening to specific disney songs on repeat
telling fibs
being c-h-e-e-k-y
drawing and colouring in
‘baby dora’ made a reappearance
you request ‘face strokies’ to fall asleep every night
‘daddy i zipped my coat up all by my own’
getting yourself dressed in a morning and trying to brush your own teeth
Five years young!
you had your first day of school and you were SOOOOO EXCITED!
when we take your photo you always tilt your head to the side
smiling with your mouth closed (just like elsa)
your birthday list seems to get longer and longer by the minute
