eco valentines paint wrap

Every year Ryan and I agree we aren't going to exchange gifts and every year he hands me something despite our agreement. This year I decided NOT again and picked up a little something for him too. We had no wrapping paper to hand so I used an old sheet of paper marlow had painted on (predominantly in red), cut it to size and bundled it up in twine… because what’s sweeter than a gift wrapped up in art by your daughter?

We are going to name this the ‘valentine’s paint wrap’.

You will need

paint (you can opt for valentine-esque colours for the fourteenth of feb; pretty reds and pinks or perhaps greens and reds for makeshift christmas wrap)

a paintbrush

twine

washi tape

scrap paper (sized for your gift)

What to do

Let your toddler loose on scrap or kraft paper with acrylic or watercolour paints in colours of your choosing. We use the MÅLA drawing paper roll from IKEA which has lasted an age and suits all kinds of purposes, such as a foundation to draw on, or a roll to lay across and protect the table when crafting.

When dry simply cut it to size, use washi tape to secure the edges at the back, and then bind the whole thing up in twine.
